A group of youths barged into a salon at Khark Mangoli in Old Panchkula and attacked its owner with a meat chopper, rods and sticks over old enmity.

The victim, Amit Bidla (25), who runs “Hairway Salon”, had entered into a fight with the key suspect, Monu, around four years ago. Both are residents of the Khark Mangoli slum.

In his statement to the police, Bidla said around 5:30 pm on Thursday, Monu, along with his four accomplices, all residents of Khark Mangoli, barged into his salon and attacked him with sharp weapons.

The victim was rushed to the Civil Hospital in Sector 6.

The police have booked Monu and his four accomplices, Vinay, Chhotu, Sourav and Deepak, under sections 148, 149, 307, 323, 324, 427, 452 and 506 of the IPC. Inspector Hari Ram, Sector 7 SHO, said they were yet to arrest any suspect in the case. —
