Resuming the day at 212/2, in reply to Manipur’s first innings total of 94, Chandigarh lost skipper Amrit Lubana, Aayush Sikka and Bhagmender Lather early.
While Lubana added 24 runs to his overnight tally of 53 before he was caught by Rakesh A off Denim, Sikka was out for just 2 runs. Lather fell to Kishan on 12 as Chandigarh slumped to 286/5.
Surya Narayan Yadav, who was batting on 51 yesterday, fell five runs short of his century as he became the second victim of Kishan.
Choudhary then joined Taranpreet Singh, who had retired hurt on 11 yesterday, and the duo stitched a 50-run partnership for the seventh wicket. The two were separated when Kishan got rid of Taranpreet on 38.
With the side loosing wickets at regular intervals, Choudhary found a perfect foil in wicketkeeper-batsman Akshit Rana and together they took the Chandigarh total to 477. The 124-run partnership between the two came to an end when Rana was caught by Guniram A off Kishan on 53.
Choudhary though kept up the attack from the other end and brought up his double century before being stumped by substitute Ng Jameson off Kishan on 230. His 215-ball stay in the middle was studded with 22 fours and eight sixes.
Harshit remained not out on 46, while Nippun Pandita (6) was the last man to fall in the Chandigarh innings. Choudhary and Harshit also raised a 188-run stand for the ninth wicket.
