Zirakpur: One-year-old dies in crash; laptop, mobile phone stolen from car

A one-year-old girl died while three members of her family sustained serious injuries after the car they were travelling in was hit by another vehicle on Patiala Road on Sunday. The victims faced double whammy when some miscreants stole their laptop and mobile phone from their vehicle.

The injured were identified as Kartik, his wife Navneet and mother Reena Sachdeva.

Reena said they were on their way to Zirakpur when a speeding car rammed into their vehicle after crossing the divider. They sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital, but soon realised that their laptop and mobile phone were missing from their car.

Zirakpur SHO Jaskanwal Shekhon said they had arrested the car driver, but the family had lost their child. — TNS
