Taking a major step toward digital governance, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched MedLEaPR — a comprehensive digital platform for medico-legal examination and post-mortem reporting — from the Delhi Secretariat on Sunday.

Developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), the platform aims to bring transparency, efficiency and accountability to Delhi’s medico-legal documentation system.

“With the launch of MedLEaPR, transparency and speed in judicial processes in Delhi will increase,” CM said at the launch event, which was attended by Cabinet Minister Ashish Sood, Chief Secretary Dharmendra and senior officials from the Delhi Police, Home Department and NIC.

The platform enables electronic submission of medico-legal cases (MLCs) and post-mortem reports (PMRs), replacing the traditional system of handwritten documentation. It features a secure centralised database and user access controls to ensure confidentiality and prevent data misuse.

“Our government is committed to providing fast, transparent and trustworthy services to the public through the use of technology,” the CM added.

According to officials, MedLEaPR will significantly reduce the time taken to prepare and share reports while also improving coordination among health institutions, law enforcement agencies and forensic labs. The platform maintains a complete audit trail of user activity and is integrated with the national Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS), ensuring seamless inter-agency coordination.

Calling MedLEaPR a testament to the government’s commitment to Digital India, Gupta said the new system marks a shift toward more reliable and secure medico-legal processes in the Capital.
