Four held with 5.44 quintal contraband

The CIA-2 unit of Kurukshetra police has arrested four people and recovered about 5.44 quintals of powdered poppy (Chura Post) from their possession on Tuesday.

The accused were identified as Devender Singh, alias Baba, Manjot Singh, and Devender Singh, alias Bunty, residents of Patiala and Pargat Singh, a resident of Pehowa. The market value of the recovered narcotics is around Rs 30 lakh.

Kurukshetra SP Nitish Agarwal said on Tuesday, acting on a tip-off, a team of CIA-2 unit stopped three vehicles for checking on NH 152-D and during checking, about 5.44 quintal of chura post was recovered from them. A case has been registered at Sadar Pehowa police station.

The Kurukshetra police have been running a continuous campaign against drug suppliers. Citizens are also being appealed to share information about such people so that appropriate action can be taken against them.
