India misreads Washington: Why Congress still matters
ON March 26, a "briefing" on the India-US strategic partnership, defence, trade and technology cooperation took place on Capitol Hill for American lawmakers. Merely 11 lawmakers out of 435 voting members of the US House of Representatives attended this event. It was the lowest attendance at such events since the Congressional Caucus on India and Indian Americans was founded in 1993 and grew into the largest single country caucus in the lower chamber of the US Congress during the next three decades.
