In a significant step towards strengthening public engagement and improving governance, Poonch Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal and Senior Superintendent of Police Shafket Hussain jointly convened a public meeting in Surankote on Saturday.

The event witnessed active participation from various sections of civil society, including prominent social, political, and religious leaders from the region.

The meeting served as a platform for open dialogue between the district administration, police, and the public, focusing on a wide range of developmental and security-related issues. Matters concerning public welfare, law and order, and local developmental priorities were discussed at length, with an emphasis on community participation and inclusive development.

Addressing the gathering, Kundal reiterated the administration’s commitment to transparent and accountable governance, assuring citizens that their concerns would be addressed in a timely and effective manner. Hussain, emphasised the importance of community cooperation in maintaining law and order, and assured the public of responsive and people-friendly policing.

Participants from civil society welcomed the initiative and appreciated the administration’s outreach efforts. They pledged their full cooperation in preserving peace, communal harmony, and promoting a development-oriented environment in the region.
