Chandigarh on Friday reported 161 new cases of Covid-19 as the number of active cases drop to 2,758.

Six deaths were recorded due to the virus in the last 24 hours as the death toll reached 735.

A 34-year-old woman from Ramdarbar was among the fatalities.

The total number of cases in Chandigarh rose to 59,577 of which 56,084 people have been cured till date.

A total of 526 patients were discharged, including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per Health Ministry guidelines.
