Lahore stadium crowd goes berserk as 'Jana Gana Mana' plays out during England vs Australia match
Goof-ups continue to mar Champions Trophy as flags and logos continue to make headlines and give fodder to social media trolls. Saturday was no different as yet another one played out before the start of the England vs Australia match at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
As both teams lined up for their national anthems, the public address system played out India's national anthem for a couple of seconds, before the blunder was realised.
England captain Jos Buttler had an amused look on his face as “Jana Gana Mana” played out instead of “God save the Queen”. With England’s flag fluttering with a gentle breeze inside the stadium, the sparse crowd present there went berserk with catcalls.
The hosts appear to be facing a stage fright as an international sporting event returns to Pakistan after a long time.
Meanwhile, social media went in a tizzy with netizens coming up with hilarious comments.
“ENG vs Australia match mai Indian national anthem chala diya vo bhi lahore mai…,” wrote a person on X.
