Now, transgender community to visit homes to celebrate girlchild's birth in Haryana

Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana said that under a unique and inclusive initiative in Haryana, the transgender community would now play an active role in celebrating the birth of daughters across Haryana.

He said that under this initiative, members of the transgender community would visit homes where a daughter is born, just like they traditionally did on the birth of a son.

He further said that under the Aapki Beti-Hamari Beti Yojana of the government, members of the transgender community would provide a certificate of LIC investment amount of Rs 21,000 to the family of the newborn daughter.

“To further strengthen this initiative, the Government of Haryana will also provide an incentive of Rs 1,100 to the transgender community,” said minister Rana at a programme held in Yamunanagar.

He said that celebrating the birth of a daughter would not only become a symbol of positive mentality change in society, but the participation of the transgender community would make it even more inspiring.

On this occasion, district president of the BJP Rajesh Sapra, senior BJP leader Nepal Singh Rana, Pushpender Gurjar, Kapil Manish Garg, Rupinder Singh Malli, Virender Munjal and Balram Saini were present.
