The Nuh police have arrested two brothers for duping people on the pretext of offering them fake online hotel booking services. Officials have recovered five mobile phones and seven fake SIM cards from them.
The accused were identified as Wasim Akram and Haseen, both residents of Upla Mohalla in Nuh. The duo would withdraw the defrauded amount with the help of bank accounts that they had opened through fake documents and ATM cards.
In his complaint, a Maharashtra resident said he was looking for a hotel room on the internet, and stumbled upon a mobile number on a website. Upon contacting on the mobile number, the person asked him to pay Rs 24,000 in order to book the room. When he came to know that the booking had not been carried out, he filed a complaint with the Nuh cyber police. “They are being questioned,” said a police spokesperson.
