Delhi recorded two fresh Covid-linked fatalities, including a five-month-old baby, officials said on Thursday. The national capital has 562 active cases and has recorded seven deaths since January 1 this year. According to the Covid-19 dashboard of the Union Health Ministry, the national capital has seen a surge of 105 cases since Wednesday. A five-month-old baby boy suffering from cerebral palsy, seizure disorder, pneumonia with sepsis and respiratory failure died after testing positive for the infection. An 87-year-old man, who was immunocompromised, and suffering from diabetes, hypertension, heart and kidney ailment, along with Covid pneumonia, also succumbed after being infected.
Four hurt after gas explosion
New Delhi: Four people, including a child, were injured in an explosion caused by gas leak in a house in Northeast Delhi’s Seelampur, an official said. A call regarding the explosion was received at 11.17 am, the official said, adding two women, a man and a child were among those injured. “We rushed three fire tenders to the spot and the fire was brought under control by 11.45 am,” the Delhi Fire Service official said. The injured have been admitted to a hospital.
Fire breaks out at house
New Delhi: A fire broke out at a house near Arya Samaj Mandir in the Janakpuri area of West Delhi on Thursday. As many as eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames, an official said. There are no reports of any casualties yet. According to the Delhi Fire Service, a call regarding the fire was received around 1.11 pm.
