More than 20 passengers, including women and children, were injured after a tourist bus headed to Mathura-Vrindavan collided with a mini-truck parked on the road near the Maujpur toll on Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal (KGP) Expressway on Wednesday.

The injured have been admitted to hospital. An FIR was registered at the Chhansa police station against the mini-truck driver.

According to the police, the bus door got locked due to the massive collision. The passengers were rescued after an hour once the glass windows were broken. The injured were admitted to the government hospital and private hospitals in Ballabhgarh. Ten passengers were seriously injured while the rest suffered minor injuries. The bus driver suffered a fracture and a head injury.

According to the police, there were more than 35 passengers in the bus that had left for Mathura and Vrindavan from Punjab’s Phillaur city.

“An FIR has been registered and we are trying to nab the accused,” said Inspector Suresh Kumar, SHO of the Chhansa police station.
