The payment, sourced from the L-G/CM Relief Fund, will be provided to Sunita Devi, the wife, and next of kin of the deceased. The case had been pending for more than five years and remained under the purview of the Transport Department of the Delhi Government, they said. The office of the L-G said Saxena had expressed strong displeasure at the prolonged and inordinate delay by the Transport Department in processing the financial assistance application, which was initially filed after Jaipal’s tragic death on June 22 in 2017.
