The early morning pre-monsoon showers came as a reality check for NCR cities of Gurugram and Faridabad which are surely not ready for monsoons. Gurugram reported over 246 mm of rain across various blocks.

Clogged drains across both cities led to massive waterlogging in many areas. These primarily included residential areas, where people blamed the lack of cleaning of stormwater drains as one of the key reasons behind the crises. The heavy storm in morning uprooted many trees in Gurugram, damaging vehicles and blocking roads leaving city in a major mess. The situation was similar in Faridabad. Another issue which left residents harried was the power crisis. Power snarls spanning over four hours were reported in the city as storm snapped power lines.

"We have got the agencies on ground to manage the crises. Water is being drained out using pumps. Electricity is being restored. We also have police on road to manage any traffic congestion," said Gurugram DC Ajay Kumar.
