The Gurugram police have arrested three persons, including a house help, for stealing jewellery worth Rs 30 lakh, along with Rs 1.50 lakh cash and a pistol from Saraswati Kunj, Sector 53. The accused had stolen a locker from the house on August 2.
The other items that were stolen include seven cartridges, gold and silver jewellery, and a car that was used in the theft. The accused were sent to a two-day police remand after they were produced in a city court on Wednesday.
According to the police, the accused were identified as Ranveer Singh, a resident of Maharajpur village in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal district; Hariom, a resident of Dibai village in UP’s Bulandshahr; and Neha, a resident of Chakri village in UP’s Jhansi.
“Neha worked as a domestic help in the complainant’s house. She confessed that when the father of the house owner died, the family members were busy, so and her partner Ranveer, along with others, devised a plan to commit theft in the house. The accused broke into the house and stole the locker from the cupboard and fled away. They all are being questioned,” said a spokesperson for the Gurugram police.
