The police stated that Ravi told them that Golu, identified as Sunil Gupta, and two of his associates were behind the attack.

“There is a long-standing enmity between the families of Ravi Yadav and Sunil Gupta. Preliminary investigations revealed that Ravi’s uncle, Virender Yadav, a practising advocate in Karkardooma Court, has been at odds with Sunil Gupta’s family for years,” the official added.

The rivalry reportedly escalated over time, with both parties lodging complaints against each other. Ravi Yadav himself was previously implicated in an attempt-to-murder case involving Sunil Gupta. In March, Ravi and others allegedly attacked Golu with a knife and a stick, resulting in an FIR under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

It is alleged that the situation worsened after Golu’s brother, Vipin, reportedly lost his job due to complaints and RTIs filed by Virender Yadav.

“A heated argument also took place between the lawyers of both families in Karkardooma Court just a day before the shooting,” the officer said.

Forensic teams were called to collect evidence. “Two of the three suspects named by the victim have been apprehended and are being questioned,” the police said.
