A day after its formation, the Sanitation Security Force (SSF) of the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has impounded six vehicles in collaboration with the local police. The vehicles were caught dumping debris and garbage in public spaces.
Dr Balpreet Singh, Additional Commissioner of MCG, said the civic body would now take strict legal action against individuals or vehicles illegally discarding waste in public areas. "We have intensified monitoring of vulnerable spots throughout the day and night with dedicated SSF patrol teams," he said.
In an interesting development, two tractor-trolleys were found illegally dumping garbage and debris, despite displaying the name of the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram on the vehicles. "FIRs have been filed against these vehicles," Dr Balpreet confirmed.
He urged citizens to report any incidents of illegal dumping to the MCG so timely action could be taken by SSF teams. He also appealed to residents to remain vigilant and report vehicles operating unlawfully under the MCG name.
