7 killed as temple wall collapses in Delhi's Jaitpur amid heavy rains
Following heavy rains that lashed New Delhi on Saturday morning, seven persons, including two women and two children, died after a wall collapsed in the Hari Nagar area of Jaitpur, Southeast Delhi.
These people, mostly scrap sellers, living in shanties were trapped after the wall of an adjoining temple collapsed suddenly.
The injured were rushed to Safdarjung Hospital and AIIMS. However, all of them died during treatment.
The deceased included three men, two women and two young girls. They have been identified as Shabeebul (30), Rabeebul (30), Muttu Ali (45), Rubina (25), Dolly (25), Rukhsana (6) and Haseena (7).
One person, Hashibul, was injured in the incident.
The police said that as a precautionary measure, the nearby shanties had been evacuated and an investigation was on.
