AAP woke up 10 weeks before Assembly poll: BJP
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva attacked the AAP government on Monday, comparing the deteriorating condition of Delhi’s roads to the notoriously neglected roads of Bihar during Lalu Yadav’s tenure. He also criticised the government’s ‘sudden rush’ to fix potholes after years of neglect.
“Those who have spent the last 10 years destroying roads and ignoring maintenance are now waking up 10 weeks before the poll to claim they will made the roads pothole-free,” Sachdeva said, referring to the recent road repairs undertaken by the Public Works Department (PWD).
Sachdeva placed the blame for the city’s poor infrastructure on Arvind Kejriwal, former ministers Satyendra Jain and Manish Sisodia, and CM Atishi.
He accused the Delhi Jal Board and the PWD of failing to clean sewers and drains, exacerbating the city’s waterlogging issues. “Corruption in these departments has played a significant role in damaging the city’s roads. Waterlogging has caused the roads to deteriorate,” he said.
