The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has released a list of eleven potential candidates for the upcoming Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections.
The names include Deepika Jha, Bhumika Chauhan, Yash Dabas, Aryan Maan, Rohit Singh, Ishu Maurya, Lakshya Raj Singh, Prabal Pratap Singh, Govind Tanwar, Nitin Tanwar and Kunal Chaudhary.
These candidates would begin pre-campaigning from Friday and continue till September 10. The final four candidates who will form the central panel for the elections are set to be announced on September 11.
According to ABVP, the shortlisted candidates would campaign across various Delhi University colleges, interacting with students and highlighting the achievements of the ABVP-led DUSU over the past year.
ABVP Delhi state secretary Sarthak Sharma said, “The Delhi University Students’ Union election is like a grand festival for the students of the university. That is why its importance increases even further. Today we have released the list of the top 11 potential candidates for the DUSU elections, who will go to different colleges of Delhi University and present the achievements of the ABVP-led DUSU over the past year before the students. At the same time, they will also listen to the problems of the students. This will help us prepare a new draft based on the needs and expectations of Delhi University students, through which we can develop a fresh action plan in the interest of students. We will soon release the list of the final four candidates for the central panel before
the students.”
