African nations dominate Surajkund Crafts Mela

The 37th edition of the Surajkund Craft fair is showcasing many countries from the African continent.
While the number of foreign countries taking part in the international event has gone up this time to 45, as many as 26 countries are from Africa.
While craftpersons from the UK, Armenia, Ireland, Turkey and Estonia are representing Europe, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Mynamar and Thailand from Asia have also confirmed their participation in the mela.
Russia, Uzebekistan, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan and Uzbekistan are other countries from Asia which are taking part in the fair. While Jordon, Syria, Lebanon are from the Middle East, Dominican Republic is from the Caribbean islands. As Tanzania has been made the partner country in the event, the countries representing Africa include Botswana, Comoros, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Gini Bisau, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Senegal, Namibia, Nigeria, Zambia, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Mali, Congo, Tunisia, Cameroon, Egypt, Togo, São Tomé and Príncipe, Algeria, Seychelles, Cape Verde islands and Mauritius, according to officials.
Meanwhile, China, US, Canada and a majority of the European countries are missing from the list.
