The Delhi BJP on Friday submitted a detailed letter to the Election Commission of India (ECI) highlighting what it claims are massive irregularities in the voter list for the capital.

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said the party has alleged the presence of illegal Rohingya and Bangladeshi voters, duplicate entries, non-existent address voters, and even dead voters. The representation was backed by 5,000 pages of evidence, he said. “We will not let a single illegal or bogus voter cast their vote,” said Sachdeva after the meeting.

The delegation included national convenor of the election coordination committee for the BJP Om Pathak, Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra, MP and senior advocate Bansuri Swaraj, Delhi BJP media head Praveen Shankar Kapoor, and advocate Sanket Gupta.

Sachdeva said that there was an “abnormally high” number of new voter registrations during the period between Lok Sabha elections and the start of assembly elections in Delhi. “It is surprising to see such a large increase in voter registrations outside the yearly voter summary revision exercises,” he said. MP and advocate Bansuri Swaraj presented 18 pieces of evidence to the ECI, showing instances of alleged voter fraud.
