The deceased, Prafull Sawant, was a resident of Mumbai and lived at Gaurav PG in Sector 30. The cops have handed over the body to the kin after the postmortem. The body will be taken to Mumbai by the 9.00 pm flight on Monday.
According to the police, Prafull Sawant, a Mumbai resident, was an Air India flight safety auditor. He had been living at the PG for past some days. The PG staff said that Prafull had breakfast on Monday morning and then went to bed in his room. He had sent the caretaker money for lunch via UPI. When the caretaker called to inquire about the lunch, Prafull did not answer the phone.
After repeated calls went unanswered, the caretaker went to his room. The door was locked from inside, and his mobile phone was ringing.
The police were informed and a team reached the spot. The cops opened the door and found Prafull dead on the bed.
“No suicide note was found from the room. We have started examining CCTV footage and have also questioned the staff and residents of the PG,” a senior police officer said.
