Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president, Devender Yadav, on Monday demanded the resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah for his alleged insulting remarks against Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar in Parliament. Yadav accused the BJP of showing a “deeply anti-Dalit and anti-Constitutional mindset” and called Shah’s actions a direct affront to the ideals of justice, equality, and dignity that Dr Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, stood for.Addressing a press conference at the DPCC office, Yadav, along with AICC In-charge of Delhi, Danish Abrar, and other party leaders, condemned Amit Shah's remarks. "Congress workers will hold padayatras across all districts and blocks of Delhi to protest this insult to Dr Ambedkar," said Yadav.

He emphasised that Shah’s remarks were part of a broader pattern of BJP's conduct, which he argued was aimed at perpetuating systemic inequalities. “The BJP talks about uplifting Scheduled Castes and marginalised communities, but their actions only serve to reinforce the systemic inequities that continue to deny these people their rightful share of resources and representation,” Yadav added. He further accused the BJP leadership of failing to show any remorse for the incident and instead defending Shah’s comments.
