Army orders inquiry into student’s death

The Army has ordered an inquiry into the death of a student of the Army Public School at Shankar Vihar in New Delhi. According to reports, a Class X student died, allegedly by suicide, on February 19, following which the Delhi Police had registered case in the matter.
“The school management stays firmly committed to safety and well-being of all its students. An in-depth investigation is being carried out on this tragic and unfortunate incident,” a statement issued by Headquarters Western Command, Chandimandir, on Sunday read.
The Army and the school management of Army Public School, Shankar Vihar, is pained at the loss of Dhiraj and stand firm with the bereaved family in this moment of grief, the statement added.
“The institute is one of the premier Army public schools in the country which has created and maintained its reputation for academic and co-curricular excellence over the years,” the Army said.
