ASI held for accepting Rs 2.4L bribe

The ASI was posted at the Jyoti Nagar police station in Shahdara. According to CBI, the complainant had accused the ASI of demanding Rs 15 lakh for submitting a verification report in a matter related to a property in Meet Nagar of the complainant in a case pending at the Karkardooma Court.The complainant further added that the ASI had threatened of submitting an adverse report if the bribe amount was not paid. Based on the complaint, the CBI laid a trap and the ASI was caught red handed while accepting Rs 2.4 lakh.
The agency said further investigation was underway. The CBI advised citizens to report the instances of corruption by government officials if they come across any such instances.
