The Delhi Legislative Assembly is set to complete the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) ahead of the upcoming Monsoon Session, enabling full digitisation of legislative business and seamless digital access to proceedings and documents. This was stated by Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta during a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha Harivansh Narayan Singh on Sunday.
Gupta also announced the near completion of a 500 kW solar power plant on the Assembly premises, which will enable the Assembly to operate entirely on renewable energy.
He said the initiative supported India’s national goals of sourcing 50 per cent of its energy from renewables and achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.
The Speaker shared that plans were underway to digitise the Assembly’s library to facilitate easier access to records and research materials.
