The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organised the “Chhatra Garjana” rally on Delhi University’s (DU) North and South campuses on Tuesday, where thousands of students came together to raise their concerns before the university administration.
The rally witnessed massive participation from DU students, who collectively highlighted long-pending issues such as making the university portal cabin-free, scholarships for SC/ST/OBC students, appointment of psychologists and gynaecologists in all colleges, a centralised placement cell, concessional Metro passes, NCC facilities for girls, special supplementary exams for final-year students, fellowship for final-year undergraduate students and a coordination committee to prevent exploitation of outstation students by private hostel owners.
The eight potential DUSU candidates from the ABVP — Aryan Maan, Bhoomika Chauhan, Deepika Jha, Ishu Maurya, Kunal Chaudhary, Lakshyaraj Singh, Govind Tanwar and Yash Dabas — also took part in the rally.
ABVP National General Secretary Virendra Solanki said, “We fight for student rights all year round, and today once again, students have given us their valuable support.”
ABVP Delhi State Secretary Sarthak Sharma added, “Thousands of students from across the numerous DU colleges came out placed their woes before the administration. The DU administration must take immediate steps to address these demands.”
