Delhi Edu Minister honours PM POSHAN scheme contributors

Delhi Education Minister, Ashish Sood, today felicitated agencies, districts, officers, and employees for their contributions to the Pradhan Mantri POSHAN (mid-day meal) Scheme. The ceremony, held at Shaktinagar School, also featured the first-ever cooking competition aimed at promoting millet and porridge-based dishes for children.

The Minister awarded the Akshaya Patra Foundation with the first prize in the cooking competition, followed by Ekta Shakti Foundation in the second place and Stree Shakti in the third. The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) was recognised as the best implementing agency in Delhi.

For updating the PM-POSHAN portal through the Management Information System, the top-performing districts were, Central and New Delhi (first), East (second), and South West B-II (third). In the Automated Monitoring System, South West B-II secured first, North-West B-II second, and East third.

Congratulating the winners, Sood praised their tireless efforts, stating that the PM POSHAN initiative “not only addresses hunger in the classroom but also improves learning outcomes and promotes social equality.”
