The Delhi Government has chalked out an elaborate line-up of events to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday on September 17. The celebrations, under the banner “Thank You Modi Ji”, will kick off with an exhibition, a mega blood donation camp and a Seva Sankalp Walk at Kartavya Path.

According to officials, the exhibition will highlight the Centre’s allocations to Delhi, progress on Yamuna rejuvenation, and projects aimed at building a “Viksit Delhi.” Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and her entire cabinet will join the Seva Sankalp Walk.

The government is also targeting the collection of over 1,000 units of blood at the camp. “So far, the highest ever collection at a single spot has been 350 units. This time, the aim is to cross the 1,000-mark,” an official said, adding that the CM has been closely monitoring preparations.

The celebrations will extend into a 15-day Seva Pakhwada (September 17–October 2), during which a series of inaugurations and foundation stone-laying ceremonies are planned. These include new hospital blocks at Guru Gobind Singh, Sanjay Gandhi Memorial, Acharya Shri Bhikshu, Bhagwan Mahavir and Shri Dada Dev hospitals.

Other key projects lined up are a nursing college and hostel in Narela, an old-age home in Paschim Vihar, and a hostel for visually impaired girls in Timarpur. The government will also inaugurate automated multilevel car parks in Greater Kailash and Punjabi Bagh, a biogas plant at Nangli Sakrawati and a 100 TPD compressed biogas plant in Ghogha Dairy.

Major infrastructure projects such as the 564 MLD wastewater treatment plant at Okhla, augmentation of Keshopur STPs, rehabilitation of Kondli wastewater plants, and the Nand Nagari flyover are also scheduled for inauguration. Additionally, CM Shri Schools will be launched, along with a new block at BR Ambedkar University’s Karampura campus.

Public-focused initiatives include the launch of inter-state buses, transport route rationalisation, and EV charging facilities at DTC depots. A mass painting competition, Dandiya programme at Yamuna Sports Complex, and the Ring Road/Yamuna Swachhata Abhiyan are also part of the line-up.
