The accused, Dev Pratap Singh of West Delhi’s Mandoli, was on the run in connection with a case registered at the Harsh Vihar police station.

According to investigators, the crime dates back to September 5, when two men — Sudhir and Radhey Prajapati — were gunned down in the parking lot of Pratap Nagar’s C-Block. Both succumed to the injuries during treatment at the GTB Hospital.

The police said the attack stemmed from an earlier quarrel on August 29 involving the victims and two men, Pradeep and Pramod.

“A case was filed and investigations revealed that a group of six plotted the murders to settle the old score,” a senior officer said.

Four suspects — Chetanya Tomar, Pradeep Bhati, Pawan Bhati and Pramod — were apprehended soon after the incident, while Dev Pratap and another accused, Sumit, managed to evade arrest.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team tracked Dev Pratap to the Bhopura border (Delhi-UP), where he was found hiding in a car.

During questioning, Singh reportedly admitted that he and his associates planned and executed the shooting to avenge past enmity.

On the day of the murders, the group allegedly reached the spot on two motorcycles, fired multiple rounds at the victims, and fled, the police added.

Authorities are now searching for Sumit, the only remaining suspect in the case.
