The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Friday set a new world record by creating a 10-kilometre-long live canvas painting with the participation of over 35,000 artists and students at the Kartavya Path lawns. The art event, themed “Viksit Bharat ke Rang, Kala ke Sang”, was held as part of the ongoing Sewa Parv celebrations.
Organised in collaboration with Triveni Kala Sangam and Delhi University, the initiative surpassed the earlier record of 5,084 artists set in Panama in 2014.
The event was attended by Union Ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Kiren Rijiju, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, MPs Bansuri Swaraj and Manoj Tiwari, and NDMC Chairman Keshav Chandra, among others.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stressed that the responsibility of building a Viksit Bharat lay with the younger generation and urged them to contribute through small but meaningful actions.
NDMC Vice Chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal said the event marked a historic milestone in India’s art landscape. He thanked Padma awardees and eminent artists, including Jatin Das, Biman B Bas, Adwaita Gadanayak, and others who joined the initiative.
