The University of Delhi (DU) has shown notable improvement in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026, moving up to the 601–800 band from the 801–1000 bracket last year.
The university’s rise reflects progress across key performance indicators such as teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement, and international outlook. DU attributed this improvement to enhanced research productivity, focus on quality and impact, and stronger global partnerships.
Celebrating the achievement, Vice-Chancellor Prof Yogesh Singh said, “These consistent gains reaffirm the dedication and collective effort of our faculty, students, staff, alumni and stakeholders towards academic distinction and global relevance.”
