New Delhi, January 13
“Ayodhya does not divide but unites,” Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Saturday. He made the remark while speaking at the release of the book ‘Tryst with Ayodhya: Decolonisation of India’ by former Rajya Sabha member and writer Balbir Punj.
“Ayodhya does not divide but unites soul and devotee to Brahma (God), the king to his people, man to man, broken to the unbroken, forward to the backward, a drop to the ocean and a forest dweller to the state. The name of the power that unites such pluralities is Ayodhya,” Singh added.
He said that appeasement politics would end in the country and the foundation of an all-inclusive society beyond caste and class would be strengthened.
“Ayodhya’s birthplace temple will become the ‘seed centre’ temple of Ram’s ideals, Lakshman Rekha’s dignity, Lokmangal’s governance system and destruction of terror and injustice,” he added.
The Defence Minister said, “Just nine days from today, we will witness one of the happiest and proudest moments of Indian history. Lord Rama will return to his divine, grand and huge temple in Ayodhya. His life will be respected and consequently all our lives will be blessed.”
Praising the book, Singh said that it throws light on faces behind the conspiracy. “I have been able to see this book of Balbir ji only in a cursory manner. Though the book explores Prabhu Ram, the cultural heritage of Ayodhya, its dispute, the vote bank game regarding this dispute and the politics of appeasement,” he said.
“January 22 is the proudest day for India. Hindu society had to struggle for 500 years for this moment. Thousands of people were sacrificed. We are fortunate to be able to witness this moment,” he added.
He said that Ram always remained bound by dignity and is thus called the ‘Maryada Purushottam’. He belongs to everyone and he is in everyone, said the Union Minister.
