New Delhi, January 19
The Delhi Police have released an order prohibiting flying of sub-conventional aerial platforms, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), para-gliders, remotely piloted aircraft, hot air balloons, micro-light aircrafts and quadcopters, over the national capital in view of the Republic Day celebrations.”
The order, which came into force on January 18, shall remain in force till February 15. It has been reported that certain criminal, anti-social elements or terrorists inimical to India may pose a threat to the safety of the general public, dignitaries and vital installations by using these objects, it added.
“The police has prohibited flying of these objects and their online sale within the jurisdiction of National Capital Territory of Delhi on the occasion of Republic Day,” it said.
