Batla House convict gets death penalty

New Delhi, March 15

Almost 13 years after Delhi Police Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma was killed in the Batla House encounter, a Delhi court today awarded death penalty to Indian Mujahideen operative Ariz Khan for his murder.

Noting that the offence fell under the “rarest of the rare category” warranting the maximum sentence, Additional Sessions Judge Sandeep Yadav ordered Ariz to be hanged by the neck till death. — TNS
