BJP Member of Parliament (MP) from South Delhi, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, visited his constituency on Thursday to inspect ongoing infrastructure projects, with a focus on ensuring the cleanliness of drains ahead of the monsoon season. Accompanied by officials from various departments, including the NHAI, Delhi Government, and MCD, Bidhuri emphasised the importance of preparing the area to avoid the common problem of waterlogging.

During his visit, Bidhuri specifically inspected the drains along Mathura Road, particularly the NHAI drain from Badarpur Gurudwara to the Badarpur border. He also visited two underpasses on Mathura Road, where waterlogging is a frequent issue during the rains. Speaking to the officials, he instructed them to ensure that all drains were cleaned and the necessary arrangements were made before the rainy season.

“We need to ensure that these drains are cleaned in time to prevent any inconvenience to the public. Waterlogging can cause major issues, especially in underpasses, so we must take every precaution to avoid this,” said Bidhuri.

He further instructed the officials to document the cleaning work by filming the process, so there is transparency regarding the work done and the timeline of the cleaning efforts. “The video documentation will help us track the progress and make sure everything is done properly,” he explained.

Bidhuri also emphasised the need to make preparations for installing pumps wherever necessary. He instructed the concerned departments to ensure that pumps are in place well in advance to manage excess water during heavy rains.
