According to the police, they received information around 9:30 pm on Sunday at the RK Puram police station regarding a man being set on fire by a bike mechanic after pouring petrol. After getting information, a team rushed to the spot.

Siddhant Raj, victim’s nephew and a local BJP worker, said they were sitting inside a car parked adjacent to the shop of Gaya Prasad.

The mechanic asked them to remove the car from near the shop, which they refused. In a fit of rage, he allegedly poured petrol on Rahul. The petrol caught fire due to a spark from the cigarette that Rahul was smoking inside the car, the police said.
