An FIR has been registered at the Sector 10 police station and the police have started an investigation into the case.

According to the police, the victim was identified as Baljeet Yadav, who had brick kilns and liquor vends in Jhajjar.

The incident took place around 4 pm on Tuesday at the businessman’s office in Hayatpur village when two shooters reached there on a motorcycle. At that time, Baljeet was sitting with four people at his office. Both the assailants entered his office and started firing bullets. Soon after, they fled the spot. In the firing, Baljeet sustained serious injuries while two others, Ravinder and Ram, were also injured after they received bullet shots.

Baljeet was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead. An empty bullet shot was recovered from the spot.

Sources said that the incident was carried out due to a dispute over obtaining a liquor contract in Jhajjar. The deceased also had a crane service business in Hayatpur.

“The case is being investigated. Initially, it appears that the crime was committed due to business rivalry. The CCTV footage is being scanned and efforts are being made to nab the accused. The accused will be arrested soon,” said Karan Goel, DCP (West).
