BJP: AAP conspiring to block votes of certain communities
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva on Tuesday accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of trying to disenfranchise voters from the Vaishya, Brahmin, and Purvanchal communities in Delhi ahead of the Assembly elections.
Addressing a press conference, Sachdeva claimed that AAP leaders had submitted lists of thousands of voters in nearly 50 constituencies, which the party claims should be barred from voting as they were either deceased or did not reside at their given addresses.
Sachdeva pointed out that similar objection lists had been submitted for the Najafgarh and Dwarka constituencies. He presented the cases of around 15 individuals, whose eligibility to vote had been questioned by the AAP, yet these individuals were confirmed as present and eligible voters.
Sachdeva claimed that the goal of the AAP was to prevent voters from these communities, particularly Purvanchalis, from casting their votes, especially in the morning hours, disrupting the voting process and obstructing their participation in the elections.
He urged the Election Commission to dismiss the objection lists submitted by political parties and allow all registered voters, as listed in the official BLO (Booth Level Officer) list, to cast their votes without interference.
