BJP candidates celebrate win, vow to fulfil promises
Hold thanksgiving rallies, offer gratitude to supporters in city
A day after the historic win in the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, BJP’s victorious candidates celebrated their win by holding thanksgiving rallies and offering gratitude to their supporters.
The BJP won 48 of the 70 seats, returning to power after 27 years, while the AAP managed to bag 22 seats. The Congress failed to open its account.
In Moti Nagar, newly elected MLA Harish Khurana led a rally to thank his constituents. “I am here to express my gratitude to people who have shown immense trust in me. I assure them that I will work honestly for their welfare, focusing on key issues such as public toilets and water supply,” Khurana said.
Most BJP MLAs spent the day visiting temples and expressing gratitude to the people of their constituencies.
Newly elected BJP MLA Parvesh Verma, hailed as the “giant slayer” of Delhi politics, visited his native Mundka village. He offered prayers at Dada Bhairav Temple there and also visited Sahib Singh Verma’s memorial in Ghevra.
Speaking to mediapersons, Verma said: “I always remember my father. His life is an inspiration to me. With the blessings of the people of Delhi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we will work to build a beautiful Delhi where every section of society is taken care of. Our priority will be the Yamuna riverfront and improving roads in Delhi villages.”
BJP candidate Satish Upadhyay held a victory procession in Malviya Nagar. He also visited a local temple to offer prayers and cut a cake. “I have received immense love and support from the people. It is my responsibility to thank them through this procession,” Upadhyay said.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa, BJP’s elected representative from Rajouri Garden, credited the party’s success to the trust people have in Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “People were misled by false promises for the past over 10 years. Now, they have chosen development and change under Modi’s leadership,” Sirsa said.
Tarvinder Singh Marwah, who won from Jangpura, highlighted the role of PM Modi’s leadership in the victory, claiming that despite rival parties attempting to influence voters with money, people ultimately chose “Modi’s guarantee”.
Marwah said: “It is now our responsibility to fulfil the promises and work for the welfare of Delhi.”
Shikha Roi, BJP’s victorious candidate from Greater Kailash, expressed her gratitude to her supporters, saying, “I will serve the people of this constituency with complete dedication”.
Similarly, Ashish Sood, elected from Janakpuri, attributed the win to Modi’s “double-engine government” and vowed to expose corruption. “Time has come to bring the outgoing government’s corruption to light,” Sood said.
With the BJP’s historic victory, party leaders have pledged to focus on development and fulfil the promises made to the people of Delhi during their campaigning.
