BJP holds crucial meet to finalise candidates, chalk out strategy
The BJP core group held an important meeting today to finalise candidate nominations for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. The party is set to announce its second list of candidates. BJP MP Yogendra Chandolia confirmed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other senior leaders are meticulously reviewing nominations for all 70 seats, with a particular focus on the remaining 41 constituencies.

The BJP has already released its first list, featuring 29 candidates, including eight prominent leaders who switched from AAP and Congress. Notable turncoats like Kailash Gahlot and Arvinder Singh Lovely have made their way into the BJP fold.
Chandolia shared details of the meeting, stating, “Today, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and all the leaders in charge of Delhi are discussing the nominations for all seats. BJP national president JP Nadda has asked for our opinions on the 41 remaining seats, and national leadership is thoroughly discussing each constituency. If the parliamentary board meeting concludes today, the list will be released tonight; otherwise, it will be announced tomorrow.”
The meeting took place at the residence of BJP national president JP Nadda, where Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National General Secretary BL Santosh, Delhi BJP president, and Delhi in-charge members were present. The focus of the meeting was on key discussions regarding the party’s strategy and preparations for the elections.
All seven Lok Sabha MPs from Delhi, including Praveen Khandelwal, Manoj Tiwari, Yogendra Chandolia, Bansuri Swaraj, Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Harsh Malhotra and Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, were called in for the meeting one by one to nominate the names for the candidates for the Delhi polls.
Later in the day, the BJP convened a central election committee meeting at the party headquarters, which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is to confirm the final list of candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
