BJP, L-G conspiring to kill CM in jail: AAP
New Delhi, July 21
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday accused the BJP, the Central Government and the Lieutenant-Governor (LG) of conspiring to kill Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in jail.
Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said based on medical reports, Kejriwal’s blood sugar levels dangerously dropped to around 50 more than 26 times from June 3 to July 7.
“Earlier, the BJP, L-G and the jail administration claimed that Kejriwal was increasing his sugar levels by eating sweets and had even stopped his insulin. Now, they say he is neither eating nor taking insulin. Will anyone play with their own health?” Singh questioned.
According to AIIMS medical reports, Kejriwal is suffering from weight loss, weakness and hypoglycaemia, he added.
Singh said, “If a person’s sugar level falls below 80 to 70, then they can go into a dangerous state, anything can happen to them and if it is 50 or below 50, then the person can go into a coma, he can die.
The BJP’s L-G and jail administration are repeatedly lying about Kejriwal’s health, which could be considered attempted murder.”
He said if something happens to Kejriwal, it would be a case of attempted murder against those involved in this alleged conspiracy.
“The BJP and the L-G of Delhi are playing with Kejriwal’s life. The documents provided to Kejriwal’s lawyer by jail authorities indicate that any untoward incident could happen to him in jail. The L-G and BJP are making false statements about Kejriwal’s health, raising suspicions of a conspiracy to kill him,” he said.
He accused the L-G and jail administration of spreading false news about Kejriwal’s health, which he said could amount to attempted murder.
He also raised concerns regarding Central assistance to Delhi and Punjab during the all-party meeting held here before the commencement of Parliament’s Budget Session on Sunday.
He criticised the Central Government for its consistent under-funding of Delhi, predicting a repeat of the past nine years, with the allocation not exceeding Rs 350 crore.
“I can leak the Budget before it is presented and even say that Delhi will not get more than Rs 350 crore,” Singh said.
He added, “For the last nine years, it has been seen that the people of Delhi pay lakhs and crores of rupees in the form of taxes, but they are given only Rs 350 crore in the Budget.”
Singh also raised the issue concerning a recent order by the Uttar Pradesh Government, which mandates eateries along the Kanwar routes to disclose the name and identity of their owners. Singh criticised this order, claiming it was an attempt to target Dalits, tribals and Muslims. “The UP Government has issued an order that name plates of the shop owners have to be displayed at shops, which is an attempt to close the business of Dalits, tribals and Muslims. These are the people (BJP) who believe in discrimination,” he said.
Singh alleged the misuse of Central investigation agencies against opposition parties. Calling for an end to this practice, he said, “The AAP has been the biggest victim of this misuse. I have demanded to stop the misuse of investigation agencies against opposition parties.”
In addition, Singh emphasised the need for fair representation and opportunities for smaller parties in Parliament.
He urged that smaller parties be given adequate time to speak and that action be taken on Zero Hour discussions. He also supported the Congress’s demand regarding the appointment of the Deputy Speaker, insisting that the position should be filled by a member of the opposition as per the tradition.
The meeting was called by the Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister and attended by 44 parties. It was chaired by Deputy Leader of the House in the Lok Sabha Rajnath Singh.
