Under the leadership of BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, the convener of the BJP Delhi Manifesto Committee, a significant initiative was launched on Saturday to collect suggestions for the party’s 2025 Delhi manifesto. Traders and office workers across 17 major markets and offices in Delhi were consulted, with prominent BJP leaders engaging directly with the people to gather their concerns and ideas.

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, accompanied by MP Manoj Tiwari, senior leader Praveen Khandelwal, and several other party leaders, interacted with traders at the New Delhi Traders Association (NDTA) outside Palika Bazaar and Connaught Place. During the interaction, NDTA President Atul Bhargava presented a document outlining the issues faced by traders in New Delhi.

Talking about the ongoing Sankalp Patra Yatra, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva stated, "We have deployed 40 vans across every assembly constituency in Delhi, collecting the issues that the people are facing”. “We are collecting suggestions from the people to ensure that the BJP’s 2025 manifesto reflects the aspirations of Delhi’s residents. The current government’s promises have largely remained unfulfilled, and it’s time for change,” said Sachdeva. He emphasised the BJP would address critical issues such as industrial development, safety, and the city’s infrastructure, which he claims have been neglected under former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership.

Union Minister Harsh Malhotra, along with MLA Om Prakash Sharma and Abhay Verma, also joined the initiative, collecting suggestions from citizens and traders at V3S Mall, Nirman Vihar. Malhotra slammed the AAP government, accusing it of exploiting the people of Delhi across various sectors. “The citizens are unanimously demanding change, and the BJP is committed to delivering it,” he said.

MP Manoj Tiwari echoed the concerns of many citizens about the governance under Kejriwal. “Wherever we go in Delhi, people ask the same question: how long will Arvind Kejriwal continue to destroy this city?” he said. Praveen Khandelwal, another key BJP leader, condemned Kejriwal’s inaction on promises made to beautify markets and address the challenges faced by traders. “Kejriwal promised to beautify marketplaces, but it’s a matter of shame that not even a single nail has been added to these markets. Taxes are being imposed even on families of traders who passed away during COVID,” Khandelwal remarked.

MP Bansuri Swaraj emphasised that the BJP was reaching out to people through various platforms, including video vans, to highlight the mismanagement under the Kejriwal government. “We are collecting suggestions from Delhiites for a manifesto that reflects their needs and aspirations. This manifesto will transform Delhi into a ‘New Delhi’ and eliminate the rampant corruption under Kejriwal’s rule,” she said.

Atul Bhargava, NDTA president, submitted a memorandum to Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, highlighting key issues affecting traders. Bhargava proposed a “one city, one tax’ policy to replace the current property tax system and stressed the need for reforms in obtaining permissions in the NDMC area, which currently takes up to six months. He also called for immediate action to resolve parking issues in the city.
