Delhi BJP leaders, including Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, state president Virendra Sachdeva, Cabinet minister Parvesh Verma and Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari expressed their gratitude to Purvanchal residents for their crucial support in the recently held Assembly elections during a welcome and felicitation event at the Delhi Pradesh BJP office on Sunday.

The event, organised by the Delhi Pradesh Purvanchal Morcha, was a celebration of the BJP’s return to power in Delhi after 27 years. It was attended by a number of prominent BJP leaders, including Cabinet minister Parvesh Verma, MP Manoj Tiwari, Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa, and other party members. The programme was presided over by Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, and Purvanchal Morcha president Santosh Ojha played a key role in organising the event.

Speaking at the event, Sachdeva emphasised the government’s commitment to making Delhi “the most beautiful city in the world”. He also outlined two key priorities for the BJP government — the complete cleaning of the Yamuna river and the organisation of Chhath Puja along its banks. “Our goal is to make sure that the Yamuna is clean, and we plan to organise Chhath Puja there as well,” he said. He also thanked Purvanchal voters across Delhi for their critical role in helping the BJP secure a victory, stating that forming a BJP government in the capital would not have been possible without their support.

CM Rekha Gupta expressed her appreciation for the people of Delhi, particularly the Purvanchal community, whose dedication and votes were integral to the BJP’s victory. She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fulfilling all promises made during the election over the next five years.

Manoj Tiwari, in a poetic reflection, said while the BJP had returned to power after 27 years, it marked a significant 32-year journey since the party’s last major victory in 1993. “It’s all a matter of time and lines, and today, our ‘Rekha’ has become the CM,” Tiwari said, referring to Rekha’s rise to leadership.

Cabinet minister Parvesh Verma said the BJP government was dedicated to working tirelessly for Delhi’s development. He reassured citizens that the government would promptly tackle issues such as road repairs, dirty water and sewage-related problems. “We will soon launch a four-digit helpline to address these issues round the clock,” Verma said.

Santosh Ojha, president of the Purvanchal Morcha, was also recognised for his leadership and the significant role played by Purvanchal residents in the BJP’s success. Ojha praised the Purvanchal community for their unwavering support of the BJP, not only in Delhi but also across the country. He expressed confidence that the BJP-led NDA would win 225 seats in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections and form the next government in the state.
