BJP MP Manoj Tiwari shoots off open letter to new CM

Raising a series of concerns that require immediate attention, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari from North-East Delhi on Saturday shot an open letter to the newly sworn-in Chief Minister.

In his letter, Tiwari listed several issues that he expected Atishi to address urgently. Firstly, he questioned the implementation of the AAP government’s controversial liquor policy and asked for clarity on the extent of the revenue losses suffered by the state due to policy reversal.

Secondly, the letter highlighted severe deficiencies in Delhi’s road infrastructure, especially the ‘rusted’ iron railings on roads that pose a public safety hazard.

The BJP MP, demanded immediate action to repair roads under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and the Public Works Department (PWD), stating that the broken streets were becoming increasingly hazardous for the public. In addition to the infrastructure problems, Tiwari expressed concerns about power and water supply issues, accusing the AAP government of overcharging citizens for basic utilities.

He urged Atishi to roll back the high rates of electricity and water, particularly for economically disadvantaged sections of the population.

He reminded the new CM that the success of her tenure would be judged by how well she resolved the current challenges.

In his closing remarks, Tiwari assured Atishi

that he would work with her in the best interest of Delhi’s growth, saying, “As a Member of Parliament from Delhi, I stand ready to work alongside you in the service of the people of Delhi.”
