Parvesh Verma to take on Kejriwal in Delhi, BJP releases 1st list of 29 candidates

The BJP on Saturday released its first list of 29 candidates for the polls to the 70-member Delhi Assembly, fielding former MP Parvesh Verma from the New Delhi seat against ex-chief minister and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal.

It has named another former MP Ramesh Bidhuri from Kalkaji, where Chief Minister and AAP candidate Atishi is in the fray.

BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa has been fielded from Rajouri Garden, while party’s national general secretary Dushyant Gautam will contest from Karol Bagh (SC) seat.

The party has fielded Ashish Sood from Janakpuri and Arvinder Singh Lovely from Gandhi Nagar. Former Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay will contest from Malviya Nagar.

Turncoats Kailash Gahlot, Raaj Kumar Anand and Rajkumar Chouhan are also in the party’s first list for Delhi polls.

Gahlot is fielded from Bijwasan constituency, Anand from Patel Nagar (SC) and Chauhan from Mangolpuri (SC).
