Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, who joined the protest in Mayur Vihar, said that the remarks were not only an insult to the PM but also to “all women who give birth to sons”. He added that the protests reflected the anger of Delhiites against the Congress and would continue until Rahul Gandhi issued a public apology.
“Whether it is the Congress or the RJD, the use of such language is not a coincidence but a reflection of Congress’s political bankruptcy. Since 2014, when Shri Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister, Congress leaders have repeatedly resorted to such objectionable tactics,” Sachdeva said.
Sachdeva claimed that protests were being organised in all districts of Delhi. The demonstration in Mayur Vihar was led by district president Vijender Dhama and saw the participation of Minister Vinod Bacheti, District Co-Incharge Naresh Vashisth and MLA Ravi Negi
In the North West district, BJP state general secretary and MP Yogendra Chandolia addressed the protest, alleging that the silence of Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav showed an attempt to “appease a particular voter base.” He asserted that the people of Bihar would “avenge the insult to the PM’s mother” by rejecting the Congress-RJD alliance in the upcoming elections.
Thousands of party workers were present.
