The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday slammed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi for not tabling the CAG reports in the Assembly, alleging that AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal “considers himself above Constitution”.

"The Constitutional scheme requires a government to table reports of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), which scrutinises its revenue and expenses, but the AAP dispensation has not done it," BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said.

He alleged that the "anarchist character" of the AAP is pervading the constitutional system.

Notably two CAG reports were recently widely reported by the media which put the AAP into a backfoot ahead of the Delhi Assembly polls. Both the CAG reports were critical of the AAP govt of its expenses on the CM house renovation project and rendering loss of Rs 2,000 crore to the government exchequer for implementing a new excise policy in 2021-22.

In a jibe at Kejriwal, Trivedi said he used to throw "PM and super PM" barbs at the Congress-led UPA government when Manmohan Singh headed the Central Government and Sonia Gandhi the ruling alliance, and that he is himself now acting like a "super chief minister".

The BJP spokesperson also dismissed Chief Minister Atishi's crowdfunding to run her campaign as a gimmick. It is just a mask in the same way she is a mask as a chief minister while Kejriwal acts like super CM, he alleged.

Meanwhile, the AAP said that the CAG reports have been sent to the Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker for tabling in the next session of the Assembly.
